I am definitely interested in using Web 2.0 technologies in my classroom. I am particularly interested in using technology to help students communicate with one another about topics that are being discussed within the class. I am not sure yet how I would go about doing so, but I think I will have a much better understanding of it once I am presented with the material that I will be teaching and discussing with students.
I have mixed feelings on the use of Wikipedia as a learning resource. I think that Wikipedia is a great jumping off point, but I am not full certain how I feel about it as a primary source. I think that it is a source that is to be considered with a grain of salt.
I think that knowing about the resource of wikispaces is what I found especially useful to myself fin my educational career. I am interested in using it, I think, as a form of doing a book report, maybe. I am not fully certain about the way that it should be used just yet. However, I am interested in the interactive quality of it.
I totally think that Web 2.0 is both useful and interesting! I can't wait to use some of this technogogy in my classroom (or not... since I'm changing my major tomorrow hahaha) but still, it's a GREAT tool for teachers! You can't avoid the technologically advanced babies our society is producing... so why not use it to our advantage? We're the perfect age to integrate this technology in our classrooms! Unlike the generation before, we actually KNOW this stuff and can make it really beneficial and helpful!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that maybe wikispaces would be a good way to post study tools and links for supplemental information in the classroom. I'm not sure how it will all come together but I think that they are definitely useful to know!
